Dev Burman alias RD Burman alias Pancham was the Jewel in the Crown of the
Indian Music Scenario. Gifted with a tremendous knowledge and a boon to music, Pancham was
successful in catching the pulse of the Common man. Pancham’s music was a soothing experience not only for the ears but also for the soul. It not only nourished the soul but also quenched the thirst of subtle music. With his versatility and an unmatchable foresight, he was way ahead of his fellow music composers. When it comes to writing about Pancham, I fall short of words but Pancham never fell short of music notes. The saga of his music still rules the world as even today no music show ends without a Chura Liya – Dum Maro Dum – Piya Tu and Mehbooba. |
The

Emperor of Indian Music!! This short section of my website is just an attempt to pay him a tribute and a Guru Dakshina for all those musical lessons I have had from Pancham just like Eklavya did! Though every effort has been made by me to make this section as interesting and informative as possible, I am bound to the limitations and imperfection of a human being. It is possible that u may find the stuff incomplete or limited.
