Life ..A Journey    What is a Problem  Meditation    Om

When it comes to literature, I am in high spirits as it is my interesting topic. My father says that one day I am going to be a very famous writer (that is what my horoscope says) but as far as today is concerned, I am just a normal person who trying to express himself through his pen.

I don't know why, but I feel that I am all alone in this world and when I feel so, I sit down with my pen and paper and try to communicate with my dreams, my aspirations, my inner conscience and try to make up with my solitude.

Though I don't have enough time to type all the stuff I have penned down in my solitude, I am including a small writing of mine which was my first writing in English (though I have written lot of columns in Marathi and Hindi which I can't include due to some technical problems). I hope you understand and enjoy every word of it......

Life is a journey as big as the ocean.
Alone we do start towards the horizon,
To witness the moment when..
.. The ocean meets the sky.

The moment never comes,
But comes the moment where we meet!
The sailors sailing in the same boat towards hope.
The hope which lies on the opposite shore,
And glitters with the rising sun.

But remember there is the calm water,
so is the storm.
The boat may tatter but hope should not.
As
It is the time to share and the time to care,
The time we meet for and the time we live for.
To prove ourselves and prove mankind by itself.

If we come together,we sail towards the shore,
In the boat of friendship,
which never tatters.

The sky never meets the ocean
but true friendship does live.

And these are the moments, the only ones
Which we cherish and preserve throughout our lives

In the book of memories, Memories of the journey,
The journey of true friendship.
The journey may end but the boat never sinks.
As it sails to glory, the glory of true friendship!

I hope that you must have liked this small verse which is an attempt to define friendship and its significance in life. Folks, I shall keep on loading my columns for you as time permits bcos believe me, I am really falling short of time .

This question itself may sound like a big problem to many. Then what does a problem exactly mean?
Problem is like a banyan tree which once created keeps on spreading in our life, engulfing us like an octopus !!
But the question is that where and how does this Banyan named Problem ,tree grow ?
Well the answer is simple – It’s we who plant the seedling and keep on nourishing it and finally when it acquires the massive form like that of a banyan tree, get totally captivated in its trap.
It would be much better if one would stop here. But we can’t forget that we are human beings and have been gifted with an inquisitive mind ! That’s it…then starts the so called scientific analysis of the problem.
But all efforts are in vain ! Tell me can anyone try to find out the roots of a Banyan tree ??? Perhaps one can guess the age of a woman and the salary of a man, but the roots of a problem can seldom be guessed !
Now again, how to avoid a problem is also a big problem !
It’s a fact that we can’t satisfy all minds and thus can’t solve a problem completely too. All problems are interweave and if we try to solve the mess, all that happens is that we get stuck in the web !
Then ultimately what is the solution ?
If we try to adapt the following facts, a problem would never seem to be one:
  • accept every moment of our life as the truth
  • look at every moment as an opportunity to do something creative
  • change our vision towards each happening moment of our life
  • give 100% to every thing that you do in our life
  • try to understand that anything done without a satisfied and dedicated mind is a crime
  • try to analyze our response to every event happening in our life
  • go beyond the state of experiencing a problem in our life (by meditating)
  • leave everyone in his/her state and enable him/her to solve the problem on his/her own, without giving unwanted advice

If these things are adapted in our day-to-day life, then we reach a stage where we can say "Everything Is OK" and enjoy life to its maximum.
This state means, that the thing that was a problem for us, still exists but we have reached a stage where we are beyond experiencing the problem.

Meditation is a very important tool in life, a remedy for a lot of problems we have in our day to day life.
It as been proved that about 80% of the diseases and heath disorders are psychosomatic (born due to mental disorders) and related to the brain and the psychology. Meditation settles the mental disorder and almost destroys the root cause of diseases.

A meditation for 10 minutes is nothing but deep and intense breathing, which regenerates the vital energy of our body. Our life is very closely bound to our breathing in and breathing out. One can say that life is dependent on inhalation and exhalation! If there is breathing, there is life !
The way we normally breath in our regular life is not appropriate. Our lungs have approx. 6000 apertures(alveoli). By breathing normally, the air reaches only to approx. 2000 apertures and thus the remaining 4000 apertures remain devoid of fresh air(oxygen).
Thus the remaining 4000 apertures are full of Carbon-dioxide and other toxic gases. These toxic gases are the root cause of most of the dreadful diseases that ruin our life.

When you meditate, the breathing process slows down and goes deeper and deeper. As a result the fresh air now reaches the remaining 4000 apertures too, thus enriching the lungs with fresh vital air. This ultimately improves health.
Today the worlds most leading countries viz. USA, England, France, Japan etc. have surrendered to meditation techniques as a remedy to their tensions, chronic diseases and as a tool for regaining lost mental health and peace of mind !

om.jpg (1723 bytes)

Om is an element devised by Hinduism and can also be seen in Islam as "aamin" and Christianity as "omen". (surprised are u ???).
Om is related to the phase called "Aham Brahmasmee" i.e. when one attains the stage of completeness while meditating.
Till today we have almost uttered the word ‘Om’ a thousand times, have written it a thousand times, but little do we know about the significance of ‘om’.

When we meditate, u reach a stage where there is a feeling of emptiness, a feeling of enlightenment and a void is filled in our ambience. A buoyant atmosphere elevates the level of silence and inner peace. This results in a stage where we can experience "A Soundless Sound"! This is Om.

Om is not a sound which is produced, but a sound which is experienced. This is the stage when all the metabolic activities come to a standstill and what remains is just our existence, a pure subtle existence that we have never ever experienced. No mind, no thoughts, no passion, no craving, no desires, no aspirations, no attractions almost nothing except a pure existence.
At this point, the music that fills the void is Om.
According to Hinduism Om is composed of 3 elements "a", "oo" and "ma" i.e. "Akaar", "Ookaar"and "Makaaar" which also represent Brahma( who gives birth), Vishnu (who nurtures) and Mahesh(who destroys).
Do you know that sound affects our health a lot ?
It is very important to know that the type of sound that one hears everyday affects the health.(how many hours can one bear the sound of a distortion Guitar, without any headache). The difference can be sorted out by listening to a distortion guitar for 30 minutes and the sound of flute for 15 minutes.
Every sound has a health value and it has been proved that Om has the greatest health value !
