| When I was a kid, a school going
boy, I happened to listen to the song "Bombay City" and of course
"Jalwa". Wow....I was thrilled by the flute pieces and the style of singing !! Remo Fernandes, the trend-setter in Indian music scenario has been my idol !! If some one asks me what is ur aima as a musician, I say within a flash of a second, " I wanna be some one like REMO!!!" Folks!! If u don't know much about Remo, here it is...... Remo Fernandes, born and brought up in the sensational and a different world of its own GOA, learned(rather it would be ate, slept, drank,lived..)the contemporary Goanese music, a different class of its own! I still remember when in an interview he said that he composed, wrote, played, sung and finally sold his first cassettes himself on the streets of GOA as no cassette company was ready to market his creation ! And today just see the same REMO has reached a peakpoint of his career where he stands incomparable with his different style of Singing!! Yes folks, Remo writes his songs himself, composes them, sings them, plays the flute, the guitar, records them in his own studio......all by himself (and that's why I wanna be like him). He has inspired me to start playing the flute ....gosh what a style of playing the flute !!! Some of my Remo Favorites are :
